چکیده

In this paper, a many-objective optimization algorithm was developed using SPEA2 for system of four reservoirs in the Karun basin, including hydropower, municipal and industrial, agricultural, environmental objectives. For purpose, 53 years available data, hedging rules were two modes: with without applying fuzzy logic. used to optimize coefficients first 43 data last 10 test optimized rule curves. The results compared those non-hedging methods, standard operating procedures (SOP) water evaluation planning (WEAP) model. indicate that combination logic many-objectives is more efficient than discrete alone. instance, reliability hydropower requirement fuzzified method drought scenario found be 0.68, which substantially higher 0.52 from method. Moreover, reduction maximum monthly shortage another advantage rule. Fuzzy reduced 118 million cubic meters (MCM) deficit Karun-3 reservoir as expected, SOP WEAP model produced reliabilities, lower average storages, less losses through spills.

SPEA2: Improving the Strength Pareto Evolutionary Algorithm

The Strength Pareto Evolutionary Algorithm (SPEA) (Zitzler and Thiele 1999) is a relatively recent technique for finding or approximating the Pareto-optimal set for multiobjective optimization problems. In different studies (Zitzler and Thiele 1999; Zitzler, Deb, and Thiele 2000) SPEA has shown very good performance in comparison to other multiobjective evolutionary algorithms, and therefore it...

Power System Stability Improvement via TCSC Controller Employing a Multi-objective Strength Pareto Evolutionary Algorithm Approach

This paper focuses on multi-objective designing of multi-machine Thyristor Controlled Series Compensator (TCSC) using Strength Pareto Evolutionary Algorithm (SPEA). The TCSC parameters designing problem is converted to an optimization problem with the multi-objective function including the desired damping factor and the desired damping ratio of the power system modes, which is solved by a SPEA ...

Optimal Reservoir Operation Using Multi-Objective Evolutionary Algorithm

This paper presents a Multi-objective Evolutionary Algorithm (MOEA) to derive a set of optimal operation policies for a multipurpose reservoir system. One of the main goals in multiobjective optimization is to find a set of well distributed optimal solutions along the Pareto front. Classical optimization methods often fail in attaining a good Pareto front. To overcome the drawbacks faced by the...

DETERMINATION OF OPTIMAL HEDGING RULE USING FUZZY SET THEORY FOR MULTI-RESERVOIR OPERATION

To deal with severe drought when water supply is insufficient hedging rule, based on hedging rule curve, is proposed. In general, in discrete hedging rules, the rationing factors have changed from a zone to another zone at once. Accordingly, this paper is an attempt to improve the conventional hedging rule to control the changes of rationing factors. In this regard, the simulation model has emp...
